Stock broker, wife commit suicide

VISAKHAPATNAM/VIJAYAWADA: After incurring heavy losses in the stock market, a stock broker and his wife committed suicide - one in Visakhapatnam and another in Vijayawada. Pinnamaneni Ramesh Chandra (51), a resident of Abid Nagar in Visakhapatnam, had been into the stock market for a long time as was his wife Nagaprasanna (45). In recent times, with the market turning volatile, both of them suffered losses. The husband ended his life at his flat while his wife followed suit at their residence in the Commercial Taxes Colony in Vijayawada.Ramesh had recently invested nearly Rs 2 crore in the stock market. A few days back, he had sent a mail to his eldest son P Manoj Kumar, an employee of a software firm in the US, stating that he had incurred losses and that since part of the money belonged to others, he was responsible.  Alerted by Manoj, Ramesh’s relatives went to his Abid Nagar residence on Monday to find the doors locked from inside. They broke open the doors only to find Ramesh’s body hanging from the ceiling.  His wife too ended her life in the same manner. The couple’s youngest son Rahul got 10th rank in ICET-2011.
