KOCHI: The Goshree Islands Development Authority (GIDA) will soon have a new terminal office building in Kochi. The new headquarters will be set up on the land owned by GIDA near the Goshree bridge. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will lay the foundation stone for the building on May 26. The office will be set up at an estimated cost of ` 6.33 crore on the 15 cents of land near the bridge. The three-storey building will have advanced facilities and a terminal for the proposed boat service attached to it. The contract has been awarded to Forest Industries Travancore. Union Minister of State for Food and Civil Supplies K V Thomas, Urban Affairs Minister M Ali, Works Minister V K Ibrahimkunju, Mayor Tony Chammany and MLAs Hibi Eden, Dominic Presentation and V D Satheeshan will also attend the function.
