The Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) will enforce the ban on sun control films used in vehicles under the Supreme Court order from Tuesday.
The Road Transport Officer has ordered that a case should be registered against the owners of vehicles which still have not removed the sun film.
According to MVD officials, strict action was not taken apart from imposing fines on drivers after a petition for the revision on the ban of sun control film in vehicles was filed at the Supreme Court. But the petition was dismissed by the court recently. Considering this, the MVD will take action against vehicle owners for not abiding by the Supreme Court order if they still have not removed the sun film.
The Police Department is also expected to enforce the ban from Tuesday. Earlier, the MVD had been imposing a fine of `100 each on vehicle owners having sun films.
However, from now on, a case will be filed against the driver and he or she will be produced before the court.
