Supreme Court recalls order refusing to quash summon order against Dayanidhi Maran

New Delhi: In a surprise development, the Supreme Court on Friday recalled its orders refusing to quash summon orders against former Telecom minister Dayanidhi Maran and his brother Kalanidhi.

The summon orders were issued by by a CBI court in the Aircel-Maxis deal.

The apex court's order came after Additional Solicitor General Pinky Anand said Maran's petition concerned 2G case and should have been heard only by the 2G bench.

Earlier in the day, an SC bench had refused to quash the summons against the Marans. Maran and his brother Kalanidhi had challenged the CBI court's summons in the Aircel-Maxis case, arising out of the scam.

The Marans had submitted that the Aircel-Maxis case had nothing to do with the 2G spectrum scam and the special court conducting trial in the scam had no jurisdiction to hear the matter.
