Tantrik Tricks Raipur Woman into Fake Robbery to Steal Cash, Jewellery from Husband
The woman informed Pandey about her husband's money that was stored at her home, and using this information the tantrik deceived her.

Authorities were left stunned following an alleged robbery report involving Rs 18 lakh in Gudhiyari area of Chhattisgarh’s Raipur, which emerged on Sunday, August 18. The complainant, a woman, claimed that 3-4 individuals had stolen the money from her home. Police swiftly deployed a dog squad to the scene. The dog’s behavior, repeatedly indicating family members as sources of interest, further complicated the investigation. After a detailed interrogation, a startling truth came to light.

Urla CSP Mani Shankar Chandra revealed that the woman, Swati Kesarwani, had been consulting a tantrik, Vijay Pandey, amidst marital discord. Pandey exploited the situation, convincing Kesarwani to provide Rs 30 lakh for a ritual that he claimed would resolve their issues. Kesarwani complied, handing over Rs 16 lakh in cash and jewellery worth Rs 2-3 lakh.

According to the police, Kesarwani was experiencing marital issues and sought the guidance of the tantrik Vijay Pandey for household peace. The tantrik warned her that her husband was conducting a ritual that could result in the death of her and her children. He promised to perform a ritual to avert this disaster and restore peace and happiness in exchange for Rs 30 lakh. Believing his claims, the woman complied.

The woman informed Pandey about her husband’s money that was stored at her home, and using this information the tantrik deceived her, instructing her to bring the money, along with gold and silver jewellery.

Pandey instructed Kesarwani to fabricate a robbery story as a cover. Following this advice, she reported a robbery to the police on Sunday morning, alleging that four thieves had broken into her home at 3 am via the roof, tied her up with a rope, and stole the money and jewellery. She described them as wearing black clothing.

Upon investigation, the police uncovered the truth when Kesarwani admitted the deception to her husband. Subsequently, authorities arrested tantrik Vijay Pandey in Bhatgaon, recovering the stolen cash and jewellery. The police also discovered that Pandey had purchased two new scooters worth Rs 2.50 lakh.

Police station in-charge KK Kushwaha confirmed the seizure of the scooters and emphasised that the case underscored the risks of fraudulent practices by individuals exploiting personal crises.
