CHENNAI: The TAPAS Cultural Foundation is conducting an exclusive dance festival from January 8 to 14, 2012 as part of its fifth annual festival celebrations at TN Rajarathinam Pillai Muthamizh Peravai Hall, (Next to Andhra Mahila Sabha, Opposite MGR Janaki College), 92, Dr Durgabai Deshmukh Salai. The week long festival includes performances of leading Bharathanatyam, Kuchipudi, Kathak and Kathakali exponents. It will all begin with Bharathanatyam performances by Deepika Vaidyanathan and A Lakshman on January 8 at 5.30pm and 7pm respectively. On Tuesday, Deepalakshmi Vijay’s Bharathanatyam will be followed by the Kuchipudi performance of Professor Sailaja. It will be a special evening on Wednesday with a group performance by N Aishwarya, R Harini, S Niveditha, followed by the popular Narthaki Nataraj’s dance recital. Kathakali exponents Sadanam Balakrishnan and PT Narendran will perform on Thursday. The festival will end with a Bharathanatyam performance by Mahalakshmi Ashwin.
