TD leaders also to declare assets

HYDERABAD: Several TDP leaders have said that they would follow their party chief N Chandrababu Naidu in declaring their assets.TDP politburo meeting which was held here on Friday endorsed Naidu’s stand in declaring his assets.At the politburo meeting, Naidu informed his party leaders that he was declaring his assets.“The politburo expressed its happiness over Naidu’s decision,” TDP leader K Yerran Naidu said.Asked whether all the TDP leaders too would disclose their assets, Yerran Naidu said: “We are regularly submitting the details of our assets to the Election Commission.We will follow Naidu in future too,’’ he said.Another leader Kalva Srinivasulu said that they welcome Naidu’s decision in declaring his assets and they would also follow suit.Meanwhile, the TDP politburo discussed various pressing issues.The meeting decided to continue its fight against corruption.A monthlong programme would be launched by the TDP from October 2 in all the villages to motivate people against corruption in public life.TDP leaders would meet chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Saturday and submit a memorandum to him on farmers issues.“The chief minister is not touring districts.He is inviting farmers to Hyderabad.The state has no agriculture minister to look into farmers’ problems,” Yerran Naidu said.The politburo meeting demanded the state government to release a white paper on the taxes imposed from 2004 till date.The government has increased taxes abnormally and burdened the common man, Yerran Naidu said.TDP will complete its assembly segemt-wise meetings before September 20 which are intended to asses the party’s strength in the districts.In another decision, the party has decided to have youth below 35 years age in the Telugu Yuvatha Committee.“Those above 35 years would be dropped from the committee,” Yerran Naidu said.
