Dinesh Kumar, the Headmaster was angry with parents intervening and allegedly beat the students for more than two hours. Forty of them were severely injured and had to be rushed to the nearby government hospital.

"The Headmaster said we all had no right bringing up the water issue when we had such low marks. He said he is beating us to convey this our parents. Then he started beating us more badly," the injured student, Iyappan said.
