India is a country where people of all religions stay with great harmony and brotherhood, setting a perfect example of religious tolerance and secularism. We often see Muslims celebrating Hindu festivals and vice versa. Earlier, we saw people belonging to the Muslim community taking the initiative to conduct Durga puja in Kolkata. Today, we will talk about one Muslim man who was recently seen performing rituals on the auspicious day of Janmashtami. The person we are talking about in this article is Bapu Shokat Tasewale. He is aged 58 and is a resident of Ugar Khurd town located in the district of Belagavi, Karnataka. He is a farmer by profession and is also a stage artist. In a recent interview with Local 18, he mentioned that he grew up performing the play Sri Krishna Parijata, since the age of 18. Despite being a Muslim by religion, he has immense devotion to Lord Krishna. He also stated that he has a deity of the god in his home and performs daily worship.
This man has set an example for many people across the country. Despite his different religion, his devotion to Lord Krishna is unwavering. If you visit his home, you can see pictures of Hindu gods and goddesses like Krishna, Ram, Shiva Parvati, Lakshmi Narayana, Hanuman, and Sri Shivayogi. He worships each of them with great devotion and performs all rituals.
Bapu said that he believes in the quote ‘God is one with many names.’ His beliefs are fully supported by his wife Amina Begum and daughter Pramila. The 58-year-old man added that his full family is devoted to Krishna. The locals of the area also view his devotion with great respect.
With the support of the villagers, he also built a Sri Krishna temple where he performs daily worship and serves Lord Krishna promoting communal harmony and brotherhood. His deep devotion towards Lord Krishna has earned the appreciation of spiritual leader Sri Chandrashekar.
