NAYAGARH: The much-hyped hunger strike by Baba Ramdev protesting the Central Government’s inability to check corruption and get back the black money stashed away in foreign banks, has found several supporters in Nayagarh district.Members of Patanjali Yoga Samiti and Bharat Swabhiman Trust, Nayagarh, staged an hunger strike before the collectorate here on Saturday.Several organisations like the Nayagarh Adhivakta (advocate) Parishad and Nayagarh Vikas Parishad and social activists from across the State joined the protest. Prominent among those who participated in the strike are Patanjali Yoga Samiti president Bhaskar Samal, Bharat Swabhiman secretary Snigdha Rani Pattnaik, Mahila Patanjali Yoga Samiti president Sukanti Mall, social activists Trilochan Das and Rasmiranjan Pradhan of Daspalla.Koraput: The district was agog with anti-corruption calls with Ramdev supporters going on a ‘satyagraha’ before the collectorate. Prior to this, a rally by the supporters of Ramdev was organised.Members of Patanjali Yoga Samiti, Gayatri Parivar, Sai Samiti, Prajapita Bramha Kumaris, Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh and Sri Aurobindo Ashram from Pottangi, Nandapur, Sunabeda, Damanjodi, Kotpad, Jeypore, Laxmipur and Boriguma participated in the dharna scheduled for over the next three days.Nabarangpur: Hundreds of supporters of Ramdev took out a procession and staged an hunger strike at the Collectore. People from various walks of life participated in the procession that was flagged off at Gandhi Chowk.Sambalpur: Hundreds of members of Patanjali Yoga Samiti and Bharat Swabhiman Trust participated in the relay hunger strike before the office of the Revenue Divisional Commissioner (Northern Division) to support Ramdev in his crusade.
