CHENNAI: The city traffic police on Tuesday announced a series of traffic diversions on the days of IPL matches to be held at the M A Chidambaram Stadium in Chepauk.The diversions will be effective from 5 pm to 11.30 pm on Wednesday and also on April 19, 30, May 4, 12, 25 and 27. Similarly, traffic will be diverted from 1 pm to 7 pm on April 12, 21 and 28.Bells Road will be made one-way with entry from Wallajah Road and no entry from Bharathi Salai. This will be made vice versa when the match is over. No vehicles from Kamarajar Salai towards Bharathi Salai will be allowed except MTC buses and vehicles with passes.Canal Road will be made one-way with entry from Bharathi Salai and no entry from Wallajah Road.Vehicles with passes bearing letters M, P, T, W, V and MTC buses approaching from Anna Salai into Wallajah Road will be allowed on Bells Road. Vehicles with passes bearing letter B and R will not be allowed in Bells road and they will be directed to park at MRTS and Pattabiraman Gate. Vehicles coming from War Memorial and from Gandhi Statue with passes bearing letter M, P, T, W, V and MTC buses will be allowed through Bharathi Salai, Canal Road. Other vehicles will be diverted to the service road in front of PWD for parking on Foreshore Service Road. For vehicles without passes coming from Anna Salai will go via Wallajah Road , Labour Statue, Kamarajar Salai and park on Fore shore Road. Vehicles coming from War Memorial will go via Kamarjarar Salai service road in front of PWD and park on Foreshore Road. Vehicles coming from Gandhi Statue will go via Kamarajar Salai and the service road opposite to PWD to park on Foreshore Road.
