Two drier units gutted

ALUVA: In separate incidents on Saturday, two drier units processing rubber sheet and nut mug were destroyed in Keezhumad near Aluva, and Anappara near Angamaly.A drier unit functioning in the rubber plantation of the Rajagiri SH Provincial House was gutted in  fire around 5.30 pm. The fire service personnel took about an hour to extinguish the fire.The  loss has been estimated around Rs 3.5 lakh. Meanwhile, a drier unit of Mathappan Madan, Anappara near Manjapra, drying nut mug, caught fire at Elavanthi, near Angamaly at 8.30 pm. The fire was put out within two hours with the help of local people.
