BANGALORE: An SSLC student and a bank manager were killed in separate road accidents. A 16-year-old SSLC student was killed in a road mishap after a tempo hit his bike from behind at Kachohalli Village on Magadi Road in the outskirts of the city on Tuesday morning. The deceased has been identified as Omprakash, a student of Bapa Thakre School at Machohalli village. A native of Andhra Pradesh, he was staying at a hostel in Kachohalli.The police said that Omprakash was going on his bike to buy milk to the hostel. Around 6.30 am, a tempo hit his bike from behind and he was killed on the spot. The body was shifted to Nelamangala Government Hospital, where a postmortem was conducted. Meanwhile, the other inmate of the hostel staged a protest in the hostel, alleging that the hostel authorities were responsible for Omprakash’s death as the cook had sent him to buy milk. Madanayakanahalli police have registered a case in this regard.In another incident, Satyanarayana (53), a private bank manager and a resident of Shantiniketan Layout, off Bannerughatta Road, was killed after a lorry ran over him near Nayandahalli Junction on Mysore Road on Tuesday afternoon. He fell down after a lorry hit his scooter from behind and the lorry ran over him. He succumbed while being taken to a hospital, the Byatarayanapura traffic police, who have registered a case and arrested the lorry driver, gave details.
