MDMK leader Vaiko on Thursday met BJP president Rajnath Singh in New Delhi to discuss the strategy for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, a week after the two parties formally announced pre-poll alliance between them.
The meeting lasted about 25 minutes.
"We had a fruitful discussion on the 2014 general elections," the BJP chief later said.
BJP is trying to expand the NDA by roping in more parties under the alliance and MDMK is the first party in the South to have a formal alliance with it.
BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi is expected to address a rally in Chennai on February 8 and Vaiko will be participating in it.
This was the second such meeting between Vaiko and Rajnath Singh in Delhi after the alliance was formally clinched and more meetings are likely to chalk out the seat-sharing between the two parties and the poll strategy ahead of elections.
Vaiko had earlier said that he has decided to ally with the BJP unconditionally.
