CHANGANASSERY: The house of P K Narayana Panicker reflected his outlook of simple living. However, the old-fashioned house made it difficult for the NSS managers and Panicker’s kin as it did not have sufficient space to accommodate all the high profile visitors who came to condole the death of the prominent NSS leader on Wednesday. The small room which received the visitors was soon crowded by the media. NSS general secretary G Sukumaran Nair received those who came to pay their homage to the deceased leader. As VIPs started arriving non-stop, Sukumaran Nair decided to come out of the house and receive people in the front yard. Inter-Church Council chairman and Archbishop of Changanassery Mar Joseph Powathil found it difficult to breath when the media men crowded him for his reaction. However, as the house was located on the wide Kottayam-Changanassery road, the traffic police found it easier to control the traffic. Police had diverted traffic through an alternative route to make the road free. Besides Powathil, CPM-state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan, Chief Whip P C George, IG K Padmakumar, several MPs and MLAs paid homage to the departed leader.
