VELLORE: The newly elected village panchayat presidents of Gudiyattam and K V Kuppam assembly constituencies got here on Tuesday to work out the possibilities of implementing ‘Higher Education For All’ scheme, for higher secondary students passing out from both the constituencies. HEFA was recently launched by VIT UniversityVIT chancellor Viswanathan who chaired the meetings held at Gudiyattam and K V Kuppam said the target was to provide support and facilities to pursue higher education for around 4,700 students who would be passing out from the schools from these two constituencies. He requested them to identify families which need help from all the villages. Describing the scheme as a first-of-its-kind in the country, he urged them to work hard to ensure that all the students passing out from the constituencies get higher education and emerge as role models for others in the society.
