THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Vivekananda Express exhibition train, showcasing the life, teachings and works of Swami Vivekananda, will chug into Thiruvananthapuram Central Station on July 3.The train, flagged off from Howrah on January 12 to commemorate the 150th birth centenary of the saint-philosopher, will be here in the capital city for three days.A tribute from Indian Railways, this special exhibition train will have air-conditioned coaches with special exhibits such as photographs and write-ups elucidating the life and philosophy of Swami Vivekananda.The train, intended to spread the saint’s message of religious harmony and universal brotherhood, will be open to public for three days from July 3 to 5.Born Narendra Nath Dutta, Swami Vivekananda’s childhood, education as well as his travels around the world is chronicled through pictures and articles. The exhibition tells the story as how, even as a child, Narendra was inclined towards yoga, meditation, spirituality and philosophy. His brief association with the Brahmo Movement too finds mention.Vivekananda Express Exhibition train will be berthed at Platform Number 1 at Thiruvananthapuram Central Station between 10 am and 5 pm.he exhibition traces the story of Ramakrishna Mission and how he set up the organisation that now is devoted to spiritual and educational activities around the country.The association of Vivekananda with Ramakrishna is covered extensively from the time the two met in 1881 to Ramakrishna’s final days.The exhibition train will continue its journey to Kollam, where it will be open for public viewing for two days on July 6 and 7. It will then proceed to Ernakulam Junction, where it will be open to public from July 8 to 11.The admission to the exhibition is free.
