Want Sonam in the next series of '24': Anil Kapoor
Anil said he would request Sonam to take out some time from her schedule to be a part of his spy thriller.

New Delhi: Sonam Kapoor could not be a part of father Anil's debut TV venture '24' due to a busy movie schedule but the actor says he will make sure that his daughter appears in the next series.

Anil, who is upbeat about the spy thriller's next season, said he would request Sonam to take out some time from her hectic film commitments to be a part of his spy thriller.

"My daughters and wife are excited about the show. They even came for the first look launch. Generally, they don't come for my events but for this she came. Sonam had said that she doesn't have dates to star in this season. So, I would

request Sonam to be a part of the next season if this one goes well," Anil told PTI.

The Indian version of '24', which will go on air on Colors from October 4, is said to be the most ambitious and expensive show on TV but Kapoor says he has merely tried to be true to the content.

"The series is going to be great for the audience because they will be getting something which is honest, pure and worth their while. My series is a tribute to my audience and also respects their sensibilities. It's an interesting amalgamation of reality and fiction.

"Being the producer of '24', I never thought about my profit. So, calling it one of the most expensive show is wrong. Rather it's one of the most sincere show on TV ever," Anil said.

The Hindi version of '24' will see Anil reprising the lead role of Counter Terrorist Unit agent Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) from its American series as Jai Singh Rathod. The series is about his race against time.

Anil decided to bring the series to India after playing a Middle-East politician Omar Hassan in the season 8 of the Fox network's show.

Being directed by Abhinay Deo of 'Delhi Belly' fame, it has a stellar starcast and marks the fiction TV comeback of many actors including Mandira Bedi, Anita Raj and Tisca Chopra. The series also has special appearances by veterans like Shabana Azmi and Anupam Kher.

"I feel people want sensible work on TV. Performances in the show are realistic. It has good actors like Shabana, Anupam, Rahul Khanna besides many TV and theatre actor who have value in the eyes of people. If these people are associating themselves with the show then it has to be something interesting," Anil said.

The show, which took two years to complete, has been adapted according to Indian sensibilities but the makers had kept the high points of the show intact.

"We have the skeleton intact in '24' from its American version but the story is according to Indian sensibilities," he said.

The channel also has Salman Khan's 'Bigg Boss', which is garnering the TRPs but Anil does not feel that there would be any competition between the two shows.

"Both the shows belong to same channel and that is a big blessing in disguise because people don't have to switch the channel. I feel 'Bigg Boss' might help to get more viewer for my series. Competition is always welcome and that makes

you work hard," Anil said.
