BANGALORE: A man wanted by the Orissa police in connection to several murder cases was arrested by the HSR Layour police after he allegedly tried to snatch a gold chain from a woman.The accused has been identified as Judhistar Nahak (27), a native of Ganjam district in Orissa.According to the police, Nahak and his associate snatched a gold chain from Parvathi (55), a resident of HSR Layout in front of the house of an advocate, Nagaraj.When she cried for help, Nagaraj came out and spotted the accused fleeing. Immediately, he informed the police and Nahak was nabbed. However, his associate Rahul Malik, a security guard, is still absconding and efforts are on to nab him.The SouthEast Division's DCP, Dr P S Harsha said that Nahak was wanted in about 24 cases in Orissa. "He is wanted in murder, attempt to murder and other cases by the Orissa police. Presently, he is in police custody. ," he added.Nahak is reportedly wanted by the Orissa police in connection with the murder of an MLA's son.
