Abhishek Verma, moved court, seeking a separate vehicle to get him from jail to court.

New Delhi: In a new twist to the Naval War Room leak case, controversial businessman and one of the accused in the case Abhishek Verma, moved court, seeking a separate vehicle to get him from jail to court.

Verma said he felt threatened from fellow undertrials and would require a separate vehicle - a request which was accepted by Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Sanjeev Jain.

The judge noted, keeping in view the apprehensions or threats from Undertrial Prisoners (UTPs) to accused, Verma, “I order the DCP Third Battalion to provide him a separate van while coming from Central jail to the Tis Hazari Court and going back."

Verma submitted that he had received several alleged threats and extortion demands from undertrials like Krishan Solanki, Charanjeet Chopra, H K Sharma, Ranjeet and others.

He also apprehended danger to his life from these anti-social elements.
