Sanosara (Jamnagar): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday saved the lives of many cameraman during the inauguration of Saurashtra Narmada Avataran for Irrigation (SAUNI) project after he gestured and waved to them to move out of the way of gushing water that was released from the dam, Deputy Chief Minister of Gujarat Nitin Patel told the media.
Immediately after the inauguration in which Modi pushed the button to release the water from the dam, the Prime Minster who was just monitoring the flow of the water at the Aji-3 dam site realised that several mediamen who were engrossed in capturing the event were oblivious to the rushing water.
An alert Modi clapped and gestured towards the cameramen and asked them to move out of the way.
"He suddenly noticed that several cameramen and photographers were standing on the downstream side. The strong flow of water released a little while ago was racing towards them and could have washed them away," Nitin Patel said.
