The temple will be safeguarded. In the next three months, there will be new system here and there will be no flood from next year,” he assured.Gowda has also directed the authorities to raise the height of the bridge which is constructed next to the temple on Vrushabavathi canal.“Work should be completed in the next one and half months,” he also assured. No dearth of fundsThe Chief Minister said that both state government and the BBMP are aware of the loss due to heavy rain. “We have already given `4 crore as compensation and there is no dearth of funds at the government and the BBMP,” he said.Gowda distributed cheques on the spot to people in Bapujinagar and Arundhatinagar.CompensationGowda gave away `2 lakh in cheque as compensation to the parents who lost their one-and-half-year-old child who died due to excess cold. This was reported after water entered their house in Arundhathinagar.Special Rain Monitoring Cell by the BBMPThe Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has set up special rain monitoring cell to check the danger spots due to rain.A press release from the BBMP said that the Cell consists of five members including additional commissioner (administration), chief accounts officers, deputy commissioner (property), deputy commissioner (land acquisition) and deputy commissioner (health).Joint commissioner of all the eight zones that come under the BBMP should report the updates to this cell everyday by 5 pm.These officials are told to inform the danger spots and public-private property loss.Officials are also to execute their duty till 10 pm upto October end.  RAIN IN OTHER AREAS■ Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) seems to be taking the issue of sewerage blocks very lightly. As the rain lashed the city, manholes started overfl owing on Bannerghatta Road between Jayadeva Flyover and Dairy Circle. People faced tough times as they negotiated the ankle deep contaminated water in the area.■ At Malleswaram, due to rains, two trees were uprooted near Nirmalarani school which damaged a school van as well as two wheelers.
