Students of GITAM Institute of Management (GIM), Visakhapatnam secured 7th position in the CAPSIM International Challenge in Online Business Simulation. The winning team consists of five second year MBA students, Rohit Kumar, Joseph Jeevan, Eswar Varma, Mahendra Dev and Sameer Krishna.Over 500 teams from B-Schools across the world participated in the online contest which involved making several business decisions in the area of operations, finance, marketing, research and development and human resource. Every team had to achieve highest balance score card score at the end of the contest, which was played for three days. Only two teams from India, IIM-Bangalore and GIM stood in the top 10 positions. The other teams included Universidad Santa Maria, Portugal, University of the Sunshine Coast, Australia, Midway College, USA Davis College of Business, USA and RMIT University, Australia.GIM has included CAPSIM Business Simulation as part of its curriculum for MBA since three years and accordingly all the MBA students in the second year get hands-on experience of managing virtual organization in a trimester. The program has been offered to executives and managers of business organizations through management development program every year.
