THRISSUR: Some Youth Congress activists attacked Govinda Chami, the lone accused in the Soumya murder case, on the premises of Fast Track Court, here, on Monday. Govinda Chami was brought to the court as the trial in the case begun. Later, police arrested seven Youth Congressmen. Justice Ravindra Babu is hearing the trial.
Dr Thanuja, Gynacologist at Thrissur Medical College, who had examined Soumya first, was cross examined from 10 am to 1.30 pm. Rajula and K Santhosh, two witnesses in the case, were also crossexamined. Dr Thanuja told the court that there was clear evidence of rape. Rajula, a fellow traveller with Soumya on February 1, the day she was brutally raped and injured, identified the dress of Govinda Chami, the lone accused in the case.
