YouTube launches online video editor

New Delhi: Now you can edit your videos inside YouTube itself. The world's largest video sharing site announced the availability of its cloud-based YouTube Video Editor.

This move makes it easier to edit videos uploaded to YouTube. Users do not require any additional software on their computers to use the tool.

The tool currently offers only basic video editing features. Users can trim videos, merge multiple videos and add soundtracks. YouTube says it intends to add more features based on user feedback.

With the new video editing tool, Google takes another shot at Microsoft. Microsoft's Windows Movie Maker is one of the most popular video editors around.

The YouTube Video Editor is available on TestTube, YouTube's ideas incubator.
