Assembly constituency no.196 Chhabra (छबड़ा in Hindi), is an Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) seat in the Hadoti region and Baran district, of the state of Rajasthan, which is in the North West region of India (Bharat). In the 2018 Rajasthan Assembly elections, Pratap Singh of BJP won in this seat defeating Karan Singh of INC by a margin of 3,744 which was 2.07% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 44.16% in 2018 in this seat.

In 2013, Pratap Singh of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Mansingh Dhanoriya of NPEP by a margin of 61,385 votes which was 39.38% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 56.58% in the seat.

In the 2008 elections, Karan Singh of INC won this seat beating Pratap Singh of BJP by a margin of 6,948 votes which was 5.45% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 46.11% in the seat.
