An Instagram video featuring a content creator based in Jaipur has gone viral, in which she recounts a distressing incident involving an alleged harassment by an Uber driver. Manali Gupta, an influencer and mother of two, can be seen visibly frightened as she narrates the incident. She describes how the driver attempted to snatch her phone and refused to stop the car during her recent trip to pick up her daughter from school.
In the video posted on her official Instagram page @littleshahsisters, Gupta explained that when she entered the Uber cab, she was on a phone call when the driver attempted to grab her phone. This prompted her to protest and raise her voice, accusing the driver of verbally abusing her. In an attempt to distance herself from the driver, she switched seats and requested him to stop the car, but he ignored her pleas and accelerated.
Gupta even mentioned that she threatened to jump out of the moving car if the driver didn’t stop, and she continued to shout for help. She said, “He then stopped the car, I got down and he immediately fled away in full speed.”

In the video, she expressed her frustration at not receiving any response from Uber despite lodging complaints. She appealed to online users for help in reaching out to Uber. She wrote in her caption, “I urge Uber to take immediate action to ensure the safety of its users and consider banning this driver to prevent such incidents in the future.” She also mentioned the driver’s name and Uber cab number.

Following the video’s release, people began commenting, with many criticising Uber and offering support to Gupta. One user suggested, “Have you made a police complaint? That’s the 1st step. The police will get the Uber to task. And if u really want to fight this one put a case on Uber company as u have all the details and proof.” Another user stated, “Uber driver should be punished…search out for him..female r nt safe.”
However, there were individuals expressing doubts about the video’s authenticity. One commenter wrote, “I never understand why such stories only come from budding influencers? Remember the case by some lady in Bangalore against swiggy delivery guy! Your story lacks the purpose of his actions…why would he snatch your phone while driving..did you say or do something?” Another remarked, “Why do i get this bad feeling you are doing this to gain popularity…”
In response to those questioning her motives, Gupta defended herself, saying, “I mean, who does all this just for likes and followers? With two kids, I’m setting an example for them to stand against crimes and find their voice. I won’t be swayed by the hate comments; people are meant for this. I’ll stand by my words and convictions.”
