Vikata Sankashti Chaturthi, a festival dedicated to Lord Ganesha, respected as the deity of wisdom, success, and prosperity, is observed by followers seeking to usher in happiness. The devotees also celebrate it to get rid of the obstacles, especially the financial problems in their lives. An astrologer named Pandit Pankaj Pathak hailing from Narmadapuram, Madhya Pradesh shed light on this aspect in an interview with Local 18. As per the astrologer, Vikata Sankashti Chaturthi is celebrated yearly on the Chaturthi Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Vaishakh month. On this day, the devotees should worship Lord Ganesha as per the rituals of the Chaturthi Tithi of Krishna Paksha. The astrologer said that by worshipping the Lord as per the rituals, one could eliminate all the financial problems. This year, Vikata Sankashti Chaturthi will be celebrated on April 27, 2024, and both men and women can observe fast on this day to achieve success in their jobs.
As per the Vedic calendar, the Chaturthi Tithi of the Krishna Paksha of the Vaishakh month will start on April 27 at 08:17 AM. The worship of the Moon and the Arghya ritual during the Chaturthi Tithi holds a lot of importance. Therefore, the fast of Vikata Sankashti Chaturthi will be kept on Saturday, April 27. The Chaturthi Tithi will start after sunrise on April 27 and complete on the morning of April 28. The moonrise is expected to occur at 10:23 PM, signalling the time for moon worship and offering of Arghya. Arghya means that which is valuable and deserves to be offered.
Another astrologer named Dr Krishna Kumar Bhargava has talked about the timings of the ceremonies of this festival with News 18. Regarding the auspicious timings, Brahma Muhurat on Vikata Sankashti Chaturthi is expected from 04:17 AM to 05:00 AM, while the Abhijeet Muhurat is from 11:53 AM to 12:45 PM. The fasting period is considered auspicious from 07:22 AM to 09:01 AM. Devotees are advised to engage in worship, observe the fast in the morning, and offer Arghya to the moon at night.
Vikata Sankashti Chaturthi coincides with Bhadra Muhurat, starting from 05:44 AM to 08:17 AM, further increasing its importance for devotees.
