Natasha Poonawalla blends tradition and elegance at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant's Wedding

Natasha Poonawalla dazzled in a custom ensemble by renowned designers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla at the grand wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant.

Inspired by the regal ‘Sehra,’ Natasha’s ensemble was a harmonious blend of luxurious fabrics and intricate craftsmanship. The outfit featured elements of Farshi and Zardozi work from Awadh, the opulent Banarasi Brocade from Benaras, the vibrant Bandhani from Kutch, and the exquisite pure Dhakai from Bangladesh. Each fabric, known for its meticulous production process, was hand-woven over several months to achieve its stunning final form.

The kurta was entirely embellished and draped gracefully with strings of pearls and stones, reminiscent of a royal groom’s turban adorned with a sehra. This majestic design highlighted the dedication and skill of the artisans, with each stone and pearl meticulously hand-sewn to create an ethereal masterpiece. The combination of Bandhani and pure Dhakai fabrics formed an indulgent dupatta, adding to the ensemble’s luxurious silhouette.

Adding a touch of personal history and vintage charm, Natasha wore a headgear with significant sentimental value. This vintage piece originally belonged to her grandmother, who wore it at her wedding in the 1940s. The heirloom headgear added a layer of nostalgia and timeless elegance to Natasha’s already stunning appearance.

Natasha’s attire not only showcased her impeccable sense of style but also celebrated India’s rich textile heritage and the artisans’ mastery. Her ensemble was more than just a fashion statement; it was a tribute to the traditions and craftsmanship passed down through generations. The meticulous attention to detail, the blend of various regional textiles, and the incorporation of a cherished family heirloom created a look that was both contemporary and steeped in history.

In this mesmerising outfit, Natasha Poonawalla effortlessly blended tradition with modernity, creating a memorable and breathtaking look for the grand wedding ceremony.
