Actress Malaika Vasupal is riding high on the success of her film Upadhyaksha, directed by Anil Kumar. She has now been cast in the upcoming actor Nagabhushana starrer Vidhyapathi. This film will be helmed by director duo Esham and Haseen Khan, known for their acclaimed work in the film Ikkat, also starring Nagabhushana. According to reports, Malaika is set to commence shooting for Vidhyapathi in March. The movie will be produced by Daali Dhananjaya under his production house Daali Pictures, who announced Malaika’s involvement via an Instagram poster. In the poster, Malaika looks stunning in a golden saree paired with a colour-coordinated blouse.

Malaika’s fans expressed their excitement in the comment section, eagerly anticipating her performance in the new project. Speaking about her role in an interview with The New Indian Express, Malaika stated, “This is once again a comedy venture and I chose the project mainly for the storyline created by the directors. Moreover, I am getting an opportunity to work with Daali Pictures, who have given films like Badava Rascal and Tagaru Palya. Promoting Upadhyaksha made me understand that content is important, but at the same time, entertainment is the key value for a film to be successful.”
Malaika is gradually making her mark as one of the rising stars of the Kannada film industry, impressing audiences with her acting prowess despite having worked on only two projects so far. Her debut project was the television serial Hitler Kalyana, where she portrayed the character of Leela. Reflecting on her debut, Malaika revealed in an interaction with the Times of India that she received a sudden call from the channel informing her that she had cleared the auditions for the serial. “Hitler Kalyana marked the small screen comeback of actor Dileep Raj after a significant hiatus. The series also featured Vidya Murthy, Ravi Bhat, Vinay Kashyap and others in prominent roles, running for a successful 4-year period before concluding.
