Writer Manoj Muntashir, who penned the Prabhas-starrer Adipurush, came under heavy fire for the controversial dialogues. Though he previously insisted the mistakes were unintentional and never meant to hurt religious sentiments or disrespect Lord Ram and Hanuman, the backlash clearly took a toll on him. Manoj recently opened up about how deeply it affected him, even admitting that it brought him to tears. He also reflected on the experience, saying it taught him that everything in life is temporary.

In a chat with Shubhankar Mishra on his YouTube channel, he shared, “Roya tha main. Ek insaan ke taur pe maine ye samjha ki kuch bhi permanent nahi hai. Jo aaj hai, ho sakta hai ye kal na ho, lekin ye bhi seekha ki jo achha hai, woh kal bura bhi ho sakta hai aur woh parso achha bhi ho sakta hai. Toh main ruka nahin hoon, jhuka nahin hoon, main din raat koshish kar raha hoon (I had cried. As a human being, I understood that nothing is permanent. What exists today might not be there tomorrow, but I also learned that what is good today can turn bad tomorrow and may become good again the day after. So, I haven’t stopped or given up; I’m working hard day and night).”

Reflecting on his experience with Bollywood, he said that Bollywood is just like a marketplace. There are no rules or regulations in the market; profit is the only rule. “Jab unko fayeda hoga mujhse, toh fir aaenge mere paas, aur aa bhi rahe hain,” he said.

At the time of the film’s release, Manoj Muntashir Shukla also faced severe criticism for saying “Lord Hanuman is not a God.” While defending the “oversimplified” dialogues of Lord Hanuman in Adipurush, he told Aaj Tak, “Bajrangbali bhagwaan nahi hai, bhakt hai. Humne unko bhagwaan banaya hai kyuki unki bhakti mein wo power tha (Lord Hanuman is not God but a mere devotee. We made him God because his devotion had that power).”
