Asif Ali's Adios Amigo Shoot Postponed Due To Wayanad Landslides
The death toll in Meppadi, Wayanad in Kerala has reportedly reached 276 on Thursday, August 1.

Once again the makers of the Malayalam film Adios Amigo headlined by Asif Ali and Suraj Venjaramoodu have been postponed. This time the reason is due to Wayanad landslides in Kerala. Initially, the film was slated to release on August 2, which was later postponed to August 15. However, in the wake of the incessant rainfall in the state, followed by landslides, the makers announced that the release date of the film will be pushed back.

The death toll in Meppadi, Wayanad in Kerala has reportedly reached 276 on Thursday, August 1. At least 240 people have been reported mission while some 200 are injured. Amid this, the makers of Adios Amigo took to Instagram to mourn the situation and express solidarity in the grave situation. The poster read, “Adios Amigo, release postponed.”

Ashiq Usman, the producer of Adios Amigo uploaded this post on Instagram and captioned it, “As we cope with the incessant rains and the calamity that has struck Wayanad, our hearts go out to the families and loved ones who have suffered unimaginable loss. This is a time of immense grief and sorrow, and we stand in solidarity with those affected. We know that this tragedy has impacted all of us deeply in one way or the other, hence we would like to postpone the release. Our thoughts are with those affected by this calamity. Stay safe!”

While many thanked the makers, a few others called it to be a “good decision”.

Adios Amigo is bankrolled by Ashiq Usman. Jimshi Khalid is in charge of the cinematography, while editing is handled by Nishadh Yusuf. Gopi Sunder scored the music. The film also features

Shine Tom Chacko, Ganapathi, Althaf Salim, Jinu Joseph, Salim Hassan, Anagha, Muthumani, and Riaa Saira in prominent roles. Debutant director Nahas Nasser is helming the movie. Adios Amigo’s shooting started on February 12 in Kochi.

Meanwhile, on July 30, the makers of yet another film, Footage which stars Manju Warrier, Vishak Nair and Gayathri Ashok announced the postponement of the release of their film as well which was supposed to hit the theatres on August 2.
