I Don’t Have Any Memories Of My Father, Says Actress Sakhi Gokhale

Actress Sakhi Gokhale is the daughter of senior Marathi actors, Mohan Gokhale and Shubhangi Gokhale. She lost her father when she was quite young and was raised by her mother. The actress has on various occasions spoken about her father, but this time, in an interview she opened up about her childhood and shared that does not have many memories with her father. On the occasion of Mother’s Day, Sakhi and her mother Shubhangi Gokhale took a walk down memory lane in an interview with a media portal. She shared that she was only six years old when her father passed away. Losing him at a young age led to her not having many memories of her father. She said that it was good for her that her father left her soon. The host asked her if she ever misses her father, to which Sakhi replied, “It sounds cruel, but I am very lucky that Baba passed away when I was very young.”

She clarified her statement and elaborated that she was too young to have many memories of him. Sakhi added, “As you grow up, your memories become very strong. I do not remember whether I was close to my father or mother then.” She added that her father, Mohan Gokhale was working very much and it was always her mother who was with her.

The Dil Dosti Duniyadari actress stated, “For those who lose their parents at a young age, it is very difficult. But my dad passed away at a time when I knew nothing. So, I don’t know what it is like to have a dad and that’s a really good thing.”

Sakhi Gokhale chose to follow her parents in their footsteps and marked her debut into the acting world with her maiden project, Dil Dosti Duniyadari, where her role as Reshma Inamdar was much loved. She was then roped in for Dil Dosti Dobara for the role of Pari. She has also worked in a few Hindi advertisements and played a short role in the Hindi film, Rangrezz. In 2017, she was awarded Fresh Face of the Year by Maharashtra Times in 2017. Apart from this, she starred in the 2017 project, Pimpal. In April, she tied the knot to her Dil Dosti Duniyadari co-star Suvrat Joshi.
