She disclosed that she has never met her famous relative, Ben Affleck, despite their familial connection. The 25-year-old is related to the Hollywood star through her husband, Zac Affleck, whose father Dave Affleck is Ben’s first cousin, making Jennifer a distant relative. Although Zac’s father met Ben during his youth, Jennifer has yet to meet the actor but hopes to do so in the future. Interestingly, Jennifer’s initial surname was Lopez, but she changed her name to Jennifer Lynn Affleck after marrying Zac in 2019. She humorously claims the title of ‘OG JLo’ and enjoys the attention her name brings.
Speaking with People, the reality star says, “My name happens to be not only Jen, but Jennifer Lynn Affleck, which is the exact same as JLo. She went from Jennifer Lynn Lopez to Jennifer Lynn Affleck, which is so crazy. People are very curious and wondering how we’re related and it’s so funny.”
Speaking about her husband’s connection with family, Jennifer adds, “He’s my husband’s cousin, but we’ve never met him. Zac’s dad has [met them], when [Ben] was very little. I’m hoping to meet him one day, too.”
Jennifer Lynn Affleck revealed that while her connection to Ben Affleck and his brother Casey is quite distant, she would be thrilled to hear their thoughts on her Hulu series, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. Despite the distance, she hopes that Ben and Casey will watch the show, which might open the door to a potential meeting. “They can tell me how the show is,” she added with enthusiasm.
