Mallika Sherawat On Meeting Kamala Harris, Barack Obama: 'Made Another Life For Myself Outside India...'

Mallika Sherawat broke the internet when she met Barack Obama in 2011 at a tea party in Los Angeles. She met the former US President again during his term and even wished him on his birthday by sharing a selfie. Mallika has also met Kamala Harris and even predicted her presidency back in 2009. Mallika reflected on these moments in her life in a recent conversation with Ranveer Allahabadia.

Mallika said on his podcast, “I have made another life for myself outside India where I can be a normal person and have normal friends… Los Angeles, yeah… it’s a lot of fun. I met with Kamala Harris. I mean, come on, I’m a girl from Haryana. I’m meeting Barack Obama and Kamala Harris! What the hell is going on?”

She added, “Jackie Chan is casting me and taking me to the Cannes Film Festival in 2004. Is it real? Back then, I didn’t even know what Cannes was and I couldn’t pronounce it properly.”

Mallika Sherawat moved to the USA several years ago and in 2009, she received honorary citizenship of Los Angeles in recognition of her career achievements and charitable work. She met Barack Obama twice while he was still President and even penned a heartfelt note for him on social media.

She wrote, “I met with President Barack Obama twice while he was still the president of the United States of America. Meeting him was a transformative experience. It evoked a mix of awe, excitement & inspiration. President Obama was very charismatic & eloquent & he happily posed for a selfie ???? Meeting him renewed my sense of belief that no matter where one comes from, remarkable opportunities are within reach.”

Back in 2009, Mallika also predicted Kamala Harris’ presidency. Mallika had posted on X, “Having fun at a fancy event with a woman who they say could be US President, Kamala Harris. Chicks rule!”

Mallika Sherawat has made a comeback in Bollywood with Vicky Aur Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video. The film stars Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri in the lead. It was released in cinemas this Friday and is facing competition from Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina’s Jigra.
