Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra, who recently got married with American singer Nick Jonas in Jodhpur, has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for attending her wedding reception held at Taj Hotel in New Delhi on Tuesday.
She has put up a photograph on Instagram thanking Modi. In the photo, she is accompanied by her Nick Jonas and mother Madhu Chopra. The four can be seen having a hearty laugh with each other. She wrote: "A heartfelt thank you to our honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji for gracing us with your presence. Touched by your kind words and blessings."
Modi, who was dressed in a white kurta-pyjama with a black Nehru jacket, gifted the newlyweds a rose each and remained on stage for about 10 minutes. He met Nick and Priyanka's families with folded hands and exchanged pleasantries.
After completing the nuptials in Jodhpur, Priyanka and Nick hosted a grand reception party in New Delhi on Tuesday.
The reception was attended by the designers like Ritu Kumar, Rohit Bal, Ritu Beri, Anju Modi, JJ Valaya, Raghavendra Rathore, Gaurav Gupta, Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna, along with Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) President Sunil Sethi. Key mediapersons were also invited.
The couple tied the knot in a two-day event at Jodhpur's Umaid Bhawan Palace on December 1-2.The marriage comes just three months after the pair was engaged in August in a traditional Indian 'roka' ceremony. The pre-wedding festivities for the couple, who has been on a celebration spree ever since they kicked-off their respective bachelorettes.
