The leading man being talked about here is Shahid Kapoor. As per the reports, an image on social media is making rounds among the fans, which shows a very young Shahid, dancing behind Karishma Kapoor, among a throng of dancers, all clad in black. It is a still from the song Le Gayi, a hit single from the 1997 film Dil To Pagal Hai, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Karishma Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit as the leads. It was made under the direction of Yash Chopra. Mohabbatein actor Jugal Hansraj also featured in the song as the background dancer.
In an earlier interview, the Haidar actor was asked about the experience in the song. According to him, he does not have any fond memories of the day. He said, “My hair was bouncing around and I was spoiling the shot. I was nervous and I had just joined Shamaq sir’s troop, so I was probably one of the rookies there.” He hoped to not “mess things up,” added the actor.
Shahid Kapoor went on to debut in Bollywood through the film Ishq Vishk, a 2003 release made under the direction of Ken Gosh. The cast included Shahid Kapoor, Amrita Rao and Shehnaz Treasurywala as the protagonists. It was produced under the banners of Tips Industries and UTV Motion Pictures.
Some of Shahid’s most prominent works include the films Kabir Singh, Udta Punjab, R Rajkumar, Kaminey and several others. He was last seen in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, an Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah directorial. The actor was seen opposite Kriti Sanon in the film, produced under the banners of Maddock Films and Jio Studios.
