Shilpa Shetty often shares fun moments and snippets on her Instagram handle for which she enjoys a massive fan following. As she starts the month of June in good faith, the actress shared a bundle of happy moments with her kids Viaan and Samisha and expressed gratitude. Recently, Shilpa Shetty visited Assam to offer her prayers at Kamakya Temple. Her visit to the temple comes a few days after Enforcement Directorate seized Shilpa and Raj Kundra’s assets worth Rs 98 crore in a crypto assets ponzi scheme case. Last month, ED seized Raj’s properties worth Rs 97.79 crore. The attached properties include a residential flat in Mumbai’s Juhu, in the name of Shilpa. Another property is a residential bungalow in Pune and Equity shares in the name of Raj Kundra, the ED said.
The Mumbai zonal office of ED has provisionally attached immovable and movable properties of Raj under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002. It has been alleged that Kundra along with others collected huge amounts of funds in the form of bitcoins (worth Rs 6,600 crore in 2017) from the “gullible public with the false promises of 10 per cent per month return in the form of bitcoins”.
The couple issued a statement via their lawyer. They said they will cooperate with the concerned authorities. They hoped for “fair investigation” and stated that they had full faith in the Indian judiciary system.
“We shall follow the due process of law and take necessary steps as prescribed under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act to protect the liberty and property of my clients. On the face of it, there is no prima facie case made out against my clients Mr Raj Kundra and Mrs Shilpa Shetty Kundra,” their statement read.
