Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha shared a special post celebrating her father, actor-politician Shatrughan Sinha on the occasion of Father’s Day. The actress, who is getting married to boyfriend Zaheer Iqbal on June 23, took to her Instagram Stories and shared a picture with Shatrughan and penned a sweet note for him.
The Dabangg star called Shatrughan the ‘pillar’ of her strength and added the tag ‘#1 Dad’ sticker on his picture. “Happy fathers day to my pillar of strength,” Sonakshi wrote with three hearts emojis. Check out the post below:
Last week, Shatrughan Sinha had weighed in on Sonakshi Sinha’s wedding rumours. “I am neither confirming nor denying her wedding news. Time will tell. She will always have my blessings,” Shatrughan told The Times of India. “Sonakshi is the apple of my eye. She is my only daughter and very close to me. I am a proud father because, over the years, she has also grown as an actor. From Lootere to Dahaad to now Heeramandi, she has proved to be a fantastic actor,” he added.
“If my daughter is getting married, I will give her my blessings and support her decision and choice. Sonakshi has the right to choose her companion, and I will be the happiest father on her wedding day. I will always wish her the best… ek hi toh beti hai meri,” Shatrughan said.
Prior to this Shatrughan had confessed he had no idea about a wedding taking place. “I am being asked by people close to me why I am not aware of this (the supposed wedding), and the media is aware of it. All I can say is, aaj kal ke bachche consent nahin lete maa-baap ke, sirf inform karte hain. We are waiting to be informed,” he told Times Now.
Meanwhile, Sonakshi and Zaheer have been dating for seven years, their leaked wedding invite revealed. The couple is yet to address their wedding rumours and the leaked wedding invite.
