Jeremy Renner recently marked his return to the screens with the much-anticipated third season of the Paramount+ Series Mayor of Kingstown, after surviving a deadly snowplow accident last year. In the crime thriller series, Renner plays Mike McLusky, the Mayor of the Michigan town where the McLusky family serves as mediators between gangs, prisoners and police. Created by Oscar-nominee Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon, the show premiered last month and has been receiving positive reviews from audiences and critics. Among all, renowned American Author Stephen King is also all praises for the series and Renner.

On Friday, King took to X and lauded Renner for starring in season 3 of the series after recovering. He wrote, “Jeremy Renner is a badass who got run over by a snowplow and came back for Season Three!”

Talking about the third season of the Hugh Dillion-created Paramount+ series, he wrote on X, “I have no clue what’s going on in

The Mayor Of Kingstown, but I love this show. It reminds me of The Shield and Sons Of Anarchy. I had no idea what was going on in those, either.”

“What I know is Mike McLusky drives around in a badass Lincoln Connie. That’s all I need to know. Also, that guy Bunny (played by Tobi Bamtefa) is a badass,” King added.

Stephen King also opened up about another character of the show Ian, played by the co-creator Hugh Dillon. He shared, “There’s a bald detective named Ian. His job (other than being a co-creator) is to say “No-no-no, Mikey!”

The show stars Taylor Handley, Emma Laird, Derek Webster, Nishi Munshi and Hamish Allan-Headley among others in pivotal roles.

Meanwhile, Renner will be next seen in Rian Johnson’s Knives Out 3 alongside Daniel Craig, Glenn Close, Andrew Scott, Kerry Washington, John O’Connor and Cailee Spaeny. Notably, Knives Out 3 marks the Hawkeye actor’s first film project he signed after his deadly snowplow accident.
