Bollywood director Anees Bazmee hit the bull’s eye in 2022 with the smash hit Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. He took over the reins of the franchise from Priyadarshan. Aneez Bazmee has had several hits in the industry ranging from No Entry to Welcome. He has also made duds like No Problem as well. Anees Bazmee has had a good professional relationship with Govinda. Anees Bazmee worked with Govinda in the 2006 film Sandwich. Govinda was in the lead role in this film. Anees Bazmee is the writer of hit films like Aankhen (1993), Shola Aur Shabnam (1992), Deewana Mastana (1997) and Raja Babu (1994). Anees Bazmee is still active in the industry, but Govinda has not worked in movies for quite a few years now. In a conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Anees referred to Govinda as the ‘Comedy King’ and praised him as a phenomenal actor. Anees expressed his belief that Govinda possesses a unique comedic talent unmatched by anyone else, citing their successful collaborations in films like Aankhen, Shola Aur Shabnam, and Deewana Mastana.
He particularly lauded Govinda’s performance in Raja Babu and emphasised his exceptional comic timing and charisma. Anees shared that he had written many successful films specifically for Govinda and considers him to be a brilliant actor.
When asked about the reasons for Govinda’s absence from the industry, Anees revealed, “Not only me, there are many others who too want to work with him. And the day I get an opportunity to do so, when I feel that yes this is the particular film, the particular role that Govinda ji should do, then of course, I’ll be happy to approach him. We share such a long-standing association that I know if there is something perfectly written for him, and if he does it, it will be great. He will totally elevate that character.”
Anees Bazmee is currently working on Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 which stars Kartik Aaryan, Tripti Dimri and Vidya Balan. The film is eyeing a Diwali release this year.
