When Amitabh Bachchan Joked 'Saari Touching Toh Bipasha Karti Hai' On Simi Garewal's Show; Watch
Amitabh Bachchan's sharp wit and humor took Instagram by storm as a video clip of him from Simi Garewal's chat show, playfully teasing John Abraham and Bipasha Basu went viral.

Amitabh Bachchan, often hailed as a living legend and the face of Bollywood, has captivated audiences for decades with his powerful “angry young man” persona and his iconic baritone voice. Yet, beyond the serious roles that have defined his career, Bachchan also has a playful, whimsical side that often emerges in interviews and behind-the-scenes moments, especially during comedy films. One such moment recently resurfaced, offering a delightful glimpse into his lighter side.

The clip in question comes from a behind-the-scenes segment of Simi Garewal’s famous chat show, ‘Rendezvous with Simi Garewal’. It features Bachchan alongside his family—Abhishek Bachchan, Shweta Bachchan, and Jaya Bachchan—during a time when he was working on the 2004 thriller ‘Aetbaar’ with John Abraham and Bipasha Basu. At the time, John and Bipasha were reportedly in a relationship, and Bachchan played the role of Bipasha’s father in the film.

In the clip, Bachchan humorously recounts an incident on set involving John Abraham, who had contracted conjunctivitis during filming. As he shared this with Simi Garewal, she jokingly cautioned everyone not to touch anything Bachchan had touched, fearing the spread of the infection. Quick to respond, Bachchan defended himself with a straight face, saying, “Maine toh kiya hi nahi kuch,” (I didn’t do anything) before cheekily adding, “Sari touching toh Bipasha karti hai, main thode na karta hun” (It’s Bipasha who does all the touching, not me). The unexpected humor and his deadpan delivery had everyone, including viewers, in splits.

For those unfamiliar with the background, John Abraham and Bipasha Basu were one of Bollywood’s most talked-about couples after they started dating during the filming of ‘Jism’. Their relationship was a subject of much media attention until they parted ways in 2011. Bipasha is now happily married to actor Karan Singh Grover, with whom she shares a daughter.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Amitabh will be seen in the second part of Kalki 2898 AD and Vettaiyan with Rajinikanth, among other films. Additionally, Amitabh Bachchan has been the core part of KBC since its inception. Except for one season (which was hosted by Shah Rukh Khan), Big B has been the face and voice of KBC.
