Will Raghu-Rajiv Return To Roadies? Raghu Ram CONFIRMS They Were Offered The Show But...
Raghu Ram opens up about the possibilty of returning to MTV Roadies.

Roadies was synonym to Raghu-Rajiv. The twin brothers were one of the biggest USPs of the show and fans do miss them in it. While the show has moved on from Raghu-Rajiv’s exit and has explored different formats and judges over the years, Raghu revealed he and Rajiv were offered to return to the show. However, they turned down the opportunity. Raghu added that he has not even seen the show since his exit.

“We were asked, but no, I don’t want to. I haven’t seen Roadies ever since I left. It is not ‘that’ Roadies now. It is a completely different show with the name Roadies on it. The format can be compared more to the voice than to the previous Roadies. When Rajiv and I walked away that day, that show was over. That particular format was over,” Raghu told India Today in a recent interview.

The ex-Roadies judge also added that Roadies is the reason he and Sugandha Garg got a divorce. Raghu confessed that the show began to impact his personal life and mental health and eventually, it led to his divorce. Raghu was married to Sugandha for 12 years. They tied the knot in 2006 but split in 2016. Their divorce came through in 2018.

“I was done. I was fed up. I walked away at the peak of it for two reasons. One was because MTV wanted to make the show a certain way, which I did not agree with. Till 10 seasons, I had pretty much a free hand. But in the 9th-10th seasons, I found myself coming into conflict with MTV, because they wanted a certain populist kind of angle to it,” he said.

He added that the show took a toll on his personal life. “The second thing that was happening was, personally, my life was going through a lot of upheavals because of Roadies and because of the surrounding craze. My marriage was suffering. Ultimately, I got divorced. My mental health, my physical health, and everything else was just crazy. I needed to take a step away. So I stopped, and I’m glad I did. Not one day have I regretted walking away,” Raghu said.

A season of MTV Roadies ran last year with Sonu Sood posed as the super judge, and Prince Narula, Rhea Chakraborty, and Gautam Gulati as judges. Meanwhile, Raghu remarried in 2018. He tied the knot with Italian-Canadian singer Natalie Di Luccio and they welcomed a baby soon after.
