Naga Chaitanya revealed he watched The Family Man series, which also starred Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the second season, and loved it. The actor made the revelation when he was asked to name a series that impressed him in recent years. The Telugu actor is all set to make his OTT debut with the series, Dhootha. The series is slated to release on Amazon Prime Video, the same platform that released The Family Man.
In an interview with Pinkvilla, Naga Chaitanya was asked, “One Indian web show that blew your mind?” The Custody actor replied, “I think The Family Man series.” The series, directed by Raj & DK, was released in 2019. It is headlined by Manoj Bajpayee. The second season released in 2021 and Samantha played a pivotal role.
When the trailer was released, in May 2021, Naga Chaitanya had cheered Samantha on. Sharing the poster of the series, he said, “Love it. 10/10”
Meanwhile, Chaitanya’s OTT debut is also being talked about. The trailer was released recently and it revealed that Naga Chaitanya will be playing the role of a journalist in his OTT debut. It presented the horrors after he finds out that newspapers are predicting horrific incidents. Besides Naga Chaitanya, the eight-episode series also stars Parvathy Thiruvothu, Priya Bhavani Shankar, and Prachi Desai in key roles. It is directed by Vikram K Kumar.

Talking about his OTT debut, Naga Chaitanya shared that he is thrilled and excited. “With a character as layered as Sagar’s in such a poignant story, I reckoned that I would be stepping out of my comfort zone and challenging myself in a way I haven’t done before. While it is a fictional story, Dhootha is thought-provoking, as it makes the audience rethink choices and decisions from their own life. And I am confident that my fans as well as ardent followers of the thriller genre will be on their toes as they watch and enjoy the series on Prime Video,” he said in a statement.
Dhootha will stream on Prime Video from December 1.
