Shilpa Shetty Opens Up On Being Trolled For Post Pregnancy Weight: ‘You Can't Change How People Think’

Shilpa Shetty is undoubtedly one of the most fit-looking actresses in Bollywood. She has always maintained herself very well and even inspired many others. Shilpa’s social handle is filled with her workout videos. Well, now the actress is gearing up for her next release Sukhee which will hit the screens on September 22. Recently, in a conversation with Bollywood Bubble, the actress recalled how she was trolled for her post-pregnancy weight.

Shilpa was quoted saying in the interview, “It was my business to be glamorous. People couldn’t understand how I had not lost weight for 8 months after the birth of my child. But I did not want to lose weight. Also, I did not pay any attention to it. The day I decided to, I lost it in 3 months. Logon ka kaam hai kehna yar (People are conditioned to say stuff). You can’t change how people think. I can’t take them too seriously.”

In the same interview, she mentioned that she is more for constructive criticism rather than negative trolling. “I’m happy they said those things because it made me aware that ab time ho gaya (now is the time), now I should lose weight (laughs). There’s a lot you can learn from in terms of feedback. I’m not talking about the negative trolling. I’m talking about the constructive criticism. There’s the best of both. And you can pick and choose what you want to pay attention to,” she added.

Recently, Shilpa Shetty also opened up about how she has never been counted as a top actress despite getting love from fans.

Shilpa is a mother of two kids—Viaan and Samisha. She welcomed her first son in 2012 and in 2020, she welcomed her daughter through surrogacy.

On the work front, Shilpa Shetty will be soon seen in Sukhee. The trailer has already released and the film will hit the screen on September 22. The film also stars Kusha Kapila in a pivotal role. The story revolves around a housewife who finally breaks free from her monotonous routine and goes to Delhi for her school reunion. Shilpa Shetty will soon be making her OTT debut with Rohit Shetty’s web series Indian Police Force co-starring Sidharth Malhotra.
