Vicky Kaushal is finally back in the theatres with Meghna Gulzar helmed biopic of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw titled Sam Bahadur. Despite the box office clash with Ranbir Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Tripti Dimri starrer Animal, the film has managed to perform well at the box office. The hype of the film is such that at a recent screening, legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar turned up to watch it. Vicky and Sachin also posed together at the actor’s terrace later.

Taking to his Instagram handle, Vicky Kaushal posted a photo with Sachin captioned, “My childhood hero saw my Film today! #IAmOk !!! ❤️

Thank you @sachintendulkar Sir for your kind words… I’ll cherish them for a lifetime.” Vicky looked dapper in a black jumper with jeans as he posed next to Sachin, who wore a blue shirt with white pants.

Sachin Tendulkar and Vicky Kaushal were also seen striking a pose with wide smiles on their faces after Sam Bahadur’s screening. When a pap asked the former cricketer ‘Kaisi lagi picture?’, Sachin Tendulkar didn’t hesitate to say ‘Bohot achchi’. Then he asked the paps, ‘Aap log ne dekhi’ followed by a chuckle from everyone.

Vicky Kaushal’s Sam Bahadur received majorly positive reviews when it hit theatres on Friday, December 1. However, the film is facing tough competition from Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal at the box office. While Animal earned Rs 61 crore on its opening day in India, the Vicky Kaushal-starrer collected merely Rs 5.50 crore.

As reported by the industry tracker Sacnilk, the Meghna Gulzar directorial collected ₹5.50 crore on its opening day in India. The Hindi version of the film had an overall occupancy of 29.18% on Friday.

Sam Bahadur is based on the life of India’s first Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw. His career in the army spanned over four decades and five wars. He was the first Indian Army officer to be promoted to the rank of Field Marshal and his military victory in the 1971 Indo-Pak war led to the creation of Bangladesh.
