AICTE Recognises Bhartiya Shiksha Board as Pan India Education Board
The AICTE informed that the Bhartiya Shiksha Board was founded on March 9, 2019, under the Maharishi Sandipani Rashtriya Ved Vidya Pratishthan (MSRVVP)

The Bhartiya Shiksha Board (BSB) has been designated as a pan-India school education body by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). It has also been accepted by the Union Education Ministry’s higher education department. This comes as a significant development for the BSB, which was founded in 2019. The board’s goal is to give students a comprehensive education that integrates traditional Indian knowledge systems with modern science and technology.

The AICTE has informed engineering and technical institutes/colleges that it has approved the BSB to be equivalent to other national school boards such as the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the Indian Council of Secondary Education (ICSE).

Through an official notice, the AICTE informed that the Bhartiya Shiksha Board was founded on March 9, 2019, under the Maharishi Sandipani Rashtriya Ved Vidya Pratishthan (MSRVVP). The council further noted that the Association of Indian Universities has granted school boards in the country BSB equivalence. The AIU has granted equivalence to the Bhartiya Shiksha Board (BSB) Class 10 and 12 board examinations, and it will function as a normal school Board within India.

Bhartiya Shiksha Board Curriculum

The Bhartiya Shiksha Board (BSB) attempts to re-establish Indian knowledge systems by abandoning Thomas Babington Macaulay’s education programme and replacing it with the Gurukul system and Bhartiya Gyan Parampara (Indian knowledge tradition). The BSB argues that the Macaulay education system, which the British imposed in the 19th century, is incompatible with Indian culture and values. BSB was founded by yoga guru Ramdev and Patanjali’s chairman and CEO Acharya Balkrishna.

The BSB curriculum is an eclectic blend of traditional Indian wisdom and knowledge systems with contemporary scientific understanding and technology. Students can check the information about the BSB curriculum here:

— Promote respect for the country’s distinct multicultural identity by using textbooks that are all-Indian and highlight the nation’s unifying qualities by incorporating regional literature from all of the states.

— Focus on helping students build STEAM competencies by mandating the teaching of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. Computer programming, vocational education and training, yoga, sports, and training in the fine and performing arts are all included.

— The Four-Block learning model of shared, guided, and individual practice is used to emphasise skill development in all areas.

— Creating hybrid textbooks with integrated digital material accessible via QR codes.

AICTE, founded in November 1945, is a national-level top advisory organisation that evaluates available technical education facilities and promotes coordinated and integrated growth across the country. It has statutory responsibility in planning, and creating norms and standards, and is committed to guaranteeing quality assurance through accreditation, prioritised funding, monitoring, assessment, and preserving certification and rewards parity.
