Chhattisgarh’s Chief Minister, Vishnu Deo Sai, is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi tomorrow in New Delhi. The meeting is expected to cover various schemes related to the development and public interest of Chhattisgarh, as well as the formation of a new cabinet.
The Chief Minister will also meet President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
CHHATTISGARH CABINET EXPANSION
Nine BJP lawmakers, including three first-time MLAs, were inducted into the Chhattisgarh cabinet led by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Friday, increasing its strength to 12.
Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan administered the oath of office and secrecy to nine MLAs, including a 31-year-old woman legislator, at a function held in Raj Bhavan.
The lawmakers who took oath on Friday include eight-term MLA Brijmohan Agrawal, senior party leaders and former ministers Ramvichar Netam, Kedar Kashyap and Dayaldas Baghel.
IAS-turned-politician OP Choudhary, Tank Ram Verma and Laxmi Rajwade, all first-time MLAs, and second-time legislators Shyam Bihari Jaiswal and Lakhanlal Dewangan have also been appointed as ministers in Chhattisgarh cabinet.
On the occasion, CM Sai, his deputies Sao and Sharma, former CM Bhupesh Baghel, and assembly speaker Raman Singh were present.
In view of the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha polls, social engineering and division were given preference in the cabinet formation, reported news agency ANI. Along with this, there was an in-depth discussion regarding the election manifesto and the agenda of the party.
The meeting on the cabinet formation was called on at the residence of BJP national president JP Nadda. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev, Deputy Chief Ministers Arun Sahu and Vijay Sharma, were among many who attended the meeting.
VISHNU DEO SAI SWORN IN AS CHHATTISGARH CM
After much speculation by the Bharatiya Janata Party, Vishnu Deo Sai was picked as the chief ministerial candidate for Chattisgarh. Sai took oath as the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh on December 13, along with his deputies, Arun Sao and Vijay Sharma, in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP chief JP Nadda.
The saffron camp won 54 of the 90 Assembly seats, while the Congress party won only 35 seats.
