Mohammed Siraj is currently with the Indian cricket team in South Africa.

The trend of Indian cricketers sharing cryptic posts on their Instagram stories continues with Mohammed Siraj being the latest entrant.

On Thursday, the India pacer shared a story with five broken heart emojis days after Suryakumar Yadav had posted a similar story on his official Instagram account.

Before Surya, it was Jasprit Bumrah who seemingly started the trend when he shared a post that read “Silence is sometimes the best answer”.

Fans on X (formerly Twitter) have been sharing the screenshot of Siraj’s post trying to speculate the reason behind it.

The 29-year-old Siraj is currently with the Indian team in South Africa where he took part in a three-match T20I series that kickstarted the multi-format tour.

Siraj has been rested from the ongoing three-match ODI series between India and South Africa which is currently locked at one-all. He will be back in action for the two-match Test series starting December 26.

A host of top India stars will be making their competitive return through the Tests including captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah among others.

Mohammed Shami, the leading wicket-taker of the 2023 ODI World Cup, has been ruled out of the series due to fitness concerns.

Siraj was part of India’s 2023 world cup campaign that saw them storming into the final with 11 wins in a row. However, in the title clash, they lost to Australia who became the champions for a record-extending sixth time.

Siraj was left heartbroken after Australia scored the winning run and was seen being consoled by his teammate Bumrah.

India are now aiming for a first ever Test series win on South African soil. The series starts in Centurion with the Boxing Day Test followed by the second match scheduled to get underway from January 3 next year.

Both the games are part of the ongoing ICC World Test Championship.
