NEET PG Counselling 2023: MCC Releases Eligibility Criteria For Stray Vacancy Round
Candidates who have joined any seat through state counselling will not be able to take part in the Stray Vacancy Round of All India NEET PG counselling to be conducted by the MCC

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released a notice regarding the eligibility criteria to participate in the Stray Vacancy Round of the National Eligibility Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET PG) counselling 2023. According to MCC, candidates who do not hold a seat in MCC or state counselling are eligible for this round, whereas candidates who were allotted a seat in the third round but do not choose to accept admission are ineligible.

Candidates who have joined any seat through state counselling will not be able to take part in the Stray Vacancy Round of All India PG Counselling to be conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).

In response to question number 37 in the information bulletin’s Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs), NMC stated, “In this regard, all colleges or candidates participating in PG Counselling 2023 are informed that the filter to weed out candidates joined through state counseling will be applied before Seat Processing of Stray Vacancy Round of PG Counselling 2023.”

NEET PG COUNSELLING 2023: ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

In light of the above, the eligibility to participate in the Stray Vacancy Round of PG counselling 2023 is as follows:

— Candidates who have not occupied a seat in any of the previous rounds of counselling conducted by MCC or through state quota counselling are ‘eligible’ to participate in the stray vacancy round of PG counselling in 2023.

— Candidates who receive a seat in round three of postgraduate counselling but do not accept it are ‘Not Eligible’ to take part in the stray vacancy round.

Earlier, the NEET PG round 3 counselling allotment results were likely to be released on September 16, however, there has been a delay in the announcement. Moreover, there has been a demand from the doctors and students to reduce the NEET PG 2023 cut-off marks and it is speculated that it could be a reason for delaying the seat allotment results.

MCC holds the responsibility to finalise the counselling procedure, schedule of exams, counselling centres and making necessary arrangements at the Counselling centres, if applicable. Moreover, they also play an important role in coordinating with the concerned agencies for counselling against State/UT quota seats. MCC also look into the fixation of Counselling fees and deposits, if any. They also work relating to the audit of funds to be placed under its disposal.
